Best of the
Bests Shooting for the seventh gold, by all means, is hard. Especially if your team is going to break a three-peat record set couple of tournaments back. Should it be a four-peat (4 in a row) type of record or should they stop and have the same 3 consecutive golds. Every indications point to repeating a 3 consecutive golds but not for the fourth. Some similarities are as follows: Supertition or not, it was like an omen. But somebody up there really loves the girls, the Best of the Best dominates. They came up good and with their chins up high the Midnight express from Walnut hurdled one of the toughest tournament they ever competed in. The 4th in a row was tallied and bagged their 7th gold of the year. Notable plays were recorded as a team effort. Everybody hold on to their position, played it well and the result was a stunning victory that made the adversaries wanting to play them again in the future. The lobbed goal by Jennifer from the right side beyond the box, during the Mission Viejos game, was the starting point. As what we have said before, "the gate was opened", Janessa scored in a header from a precised corner kick by Elisa. Then it was followed by a well-orchestrated assist from Janessa from the left to the rushing Tiffany at the middle. At that point the nail was pounded and they earned the right to meet La Mirada at the finals. By a win against the La Mirada gals, the team had earned their 4th consecutive gold. A trend seemed to have established. One that we can somehow predict. |
